Abstract
In 1983 the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) commissioned the flying and acquisition of Thematic Scanner data over 24 selected areas of the United Kingdom where ground research projects were being carried out by university and NERC units. The aircraft used was the Piper PA31 Navajo Chieftain Aircraft owned by NERC. The project report describes the field operations and equipment in detail for each flight.
